Problem Possible Cause Possible Solution

Printer is turned on but motor does not run Plexiglas doors or front door open. Close all doors of the printer.
Improper insertion of ink unit. Remove ink unit and reinsert.
Blown fuse. Replace fuse (use only 6.0 A) Check ink unit for frozen gears and sticky rollers.

Motor is turning but the print doesn´t start No air supply. Check air supply.

Printer does not auto-start Auto-Start-Sensor not working or disabled. The second paper roller must provide 4 pulses per revolution to the auto start sensor. (Check by turning the roller by hand an watch input x10 of the PLC).

One-sided print image Not enough ink in the supply container. Add ink and / or thinner.
Uneven print transfer. Check distance between print roller and print plate.
Diaphragm pump does not work. Check pneumatic supply of diaphragm pump.
Check diaphragm pump for dried ink, disassamble it and clean with thinner.
Hoses are blocked. Disconnect all hoses and flush them with thinner. Do the same with the diaphragm pump

Incomplete print image. Part of letters or complete portions of text not printing Not enough ink in the supply container Add ink and /or thinner.
Not enough pressure on print plate to upper pressure plate Increase air pressure (6 bar necessary).
Print plate contact duration too short Increase dwell time on PLC (trimmer) CAUTION: This is only possible if packaging machine cycle is long enough in duration.
Not enough ink transfer on to letters because of different heights within letters; or incorrect adjustment of guide rails, either left or right of lower print table. Check ink transfer:- Printer is operational, circulating pump is running- actuate print cycle- stop print cycle with button Stop, after print roller has made one complete cycle - open Plexiglas door and remove print plate - view letters for proper inking by holding plate against light, if necessary, replace letters or part of letters. Insert print plate and perform a "TEST PRINT"- if result is still unsatisfactory adjust guide rails in such a way that the print roller has increased pressure on the print plate as per sec. CAUTION: Make only minor adjustments to avoid an unclean print image.

Poor print quality There are many adjustments to improve the print quality. See adjustments.
